Early in 2003, the Board of Directors of the Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia (ADAGP), producer of the Philadelphia Auto Show, voted to formalize its charitable efforts by establishing the Auto Dealers CARing For Kids Foundation. Since that year, the Foundation has made more than $9.3 million in grants to local children’s charities and programs. The ADAGP and its Foundation have been supporting to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia since 1986. Cumulative giving to the Hospital tops $6.9 million. These funds support the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Patient Welcome Center in the Richard D. Wood Pediatric Ambulatory Care Center and directly benefit several departments within the Hospital.

In addition to its generosity to the Hospital, the Foundation began its Driving Away the Cold program in 2008. With support from 178 local new car dealerships, this program has warmed the hearts of 265,252 local children in need with the gift of a new winter coat.
